Yoma Arma Addon Synchroniser How it Works (OLD VERSION) |

How it works?- Each file has a unique checksum. Arma Addon Synchroniser calculates these checksums and stores them in an xmlfile (MD5Sum.xml or Rem_MD5Sum.xml)
- It then zips all of the files in separate zipfiles.
- Server administrators put these files on their webserver.
- They also need to place a small file that tells the app what modfolders the server holds (modfolders.txt)
- The application connects to the modserver and it gets a list of modfolders that are on that server.
- You can then click on a given modfolder. After you click compare files the application tests if you have the same modfolder on your disk. It also calculates all MD5 checksums of all the files that are allready in that folder.
- It then compares both lists and offers to download those files that you don't have or are different from the ones on the webserver.
Why do this?- To avoid people having missing addons which leads to a lot frustration on serveradmin's side or with the other players that are playing.
- Because downloading/uploading only changed addons instead of addonpacks can save server bandwidth/time.
- Because its a whole lot easier then chasing addon after addon.
- Because not having the correct addons installed will eventually lead to the downfall of our entire society.
- Because girls like men that have correct addons.
